About the Journal

Published by the University of Media, Arts and Communication (UniMAC), the Journal of Communications, Media and Society (JOCMAS) strictly adheres to the principles and best practices outlined by the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ). The journal fully supports Open Access publishing and the FAIR Data Principles — Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, and Reusable — encouraging authors to share underlying data, code, supplementary materials whenever possible, and licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International License.  JOCMAS is a multidisciplinary academic research platform focusing on communication, media research and other related issues in the social sciences and humanities. The Journal provides an opportunity for the academic community and industry players in Africa and beyond to publicize their research findings in the above-mentioned fields and also access similar information.
